In the 90ties he embraced the internet as a new D.I.Y.-media and got involved in net.art. Since 2001 he has mainly been working with networked physical installations. Horizontal Commute (24 minute, video 2009)

Horizontal Commute is an abstract computer generated video about moving through landscapes. The video starts in the countryside, passing a large city and ending in an office.  All images looks extremely horizontal blurred – like looking at a landscape from a very fast train. But the motif is still strangely recognizable.
Mogens Jacobsen has always been working with space and place mediated thru technology. He has made internet controlled installations, ultrasonic games and videos examining your cultural perception of space and time. In “Horizontal Commute” he works by means of one of the oldest – and most traditional – subject matters; the landscape image.
